    Wow, times have really changed since 1955.
    And, ScompRacer, I'll say one thing: that attitude helped put men on the moon.
    The father-in-law, rest his soul, was a good man and did an outstanding job providing for his family. Now he strongly believed the womans place was in the home, taking care of the children and helping tend his small hobby farm with horses and chickens while he was at work. Matter of fact he wouldn't allow his wife to obtain a drivers license so she was forever dependent on him to take her places. I had asked him once jokingly why he didn't bind the womens feet and he said they wouldn't be able to work as effectively.:p

    He was against his daughter going to college and wouldn't pay a dime towards it, although he did buy her a used car so she could drive to work and school. I can recall many a heated discussion where his daughter confronted him about his chauvinistic ideas.

    Now I've been married for 30 years and known my wife for over 32. I have strived to treat her with respect as she is both intelligent and capable. When our daughter was grown, I worked, cooked and cleaned while she attended college full time to finish her degree. Truth is, I am in awe of her. But I still like to live dangerously.:D

    She did inherit more of her fathers personality (his nic' was griz) then her mothers and believe me she has no problem expressing her opinion of that "guide" to me. :D
