    Are the blue LEDs required in the circuit?

    Yes I spent the last two years of weekends building an all electric car. Well most of the time was spend restoring a car that had not been driven since 1995.

    Here is a pic before it went into the bodyshop for paint. There are 18 6-volt batteries. I built it for my son who is a junior in high school. Being green makes you cool these days with the ladies.

    Yup. There is current running through the whole board. You just plug the tube into the socket and it lights up.
