This one was $490 shipped. My local home depot has them, but theyre about $150 more expensive.

You are correct my friend. It's my home-built cyclone separator. It goes inline with my dust collector and all the big chips fall to the bottom and stay out of the dust collector, while all the dust passes through and goes into the dust collector. Heres a pic of what you couldnt see in that picture:


I still have quite a few odds and ends to order for the dust collector to get it all going.

In the bench that you see in the picture in this post will have a 'floor sweep' on the bottom on the floor. Basically, open up the blast gate for that, then sweep everything into the floor sweep and it sucks it all up for me. On the same bench, I will have another blast gate directly under the light switch that i can hook up the flex tube too and connect it to my table saw or my miter stand if I happen to pull it out.

There will be a 'work top sweep' on the other bench that you saw in the previous picture. Same idea as the floor sweep, but on the bench. Havent decided if I'm going to a dust extraction fitting over on that bench as thats where I will have my grinder/bench sander. I want to make some sort of wheel out router stand as well...but I'm not 100% on that yet. Might wait til I get a bad ass porter cable router or something...who knows. They make one that will attach to my current table saw, but it wouldnt be enclosed and I run into the same dust collection (or lack of) problem.

I have a little of a build log in the random stuff thread on the car audio side.

The dust collector is harbor freight. Theyre normally $249.95 but go on sale all the time for $179.95. Got a dust collector starter kit from them as well for $50.

The rest of the dust collection stuff will be ordered off amazon and will be the woodcraft brand. Heres a link on how to make the dust separator
