It's amazing JJ Watt himself is 6'5" and 295lbs...
It is all about "relativity" Dr. Einstein. Yao, himself is SMALL, compared to the tallest man ever who was almost 9'! And...lived a Whopping 22 years!
As a "short" friend of mine used to say, "these guys are not human, they're ANOTHER species!" The sad, but true thing is, that their life expectancy is less than "average" for ALL that wondrous height. In a way, I feel a little sad for the super tall men, because they won't live as long as a normal human. So you short guys, and I'd have to include myself here, if Yao Ming is the "standard bearer", take heart (literally, as well as other organs which will be stressed LESS) in your height, you may have been "blessed"! lol

Used to love watching the Warthogs from Scott AFB slice retired tanks in half at the gun ranges when I was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood. They also used to do flare drops and night runs during FTX for the basic training companies. "What's that?"...Wait for it...BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP...as a cone of firey death lit up the sky.

I love the simplicity of that plane:

There is an audio connection with the A-10, both Pierre Sprey (Mapleshade fame) and Bob Dilger (Maplenoll turntable) were part of it's development.
Yes, relativity. If I could jump straight up 4 feet, for a split second.......I'd be closer to the sun than Yao...
In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence.

Well, not quite - it is a constant in a given medium. It is different in space (vacuum) than in glass - this is part of the reason that light refracts going through even a flat sheet of glass.
The speed of light (propagation of light) is different in, say, a solid than in water; thus the interesting (i.e., cool as heck) phenomenon of Cerenkov (Cherenkov) Radiation. In a nuclear reactor, there can be particles species emitted with velocities very close to the speed of light in the medium (e.g., in the fuel rods or other solid parts of the reactor); when these particles pass into the cooing water, they are (instantaneously!) traveling faster than the speed of light in water - well, no, they're not... because they can't. They have to, in effect, instantaneously lose some energy to obey the law (Physics: It's the Law!). That radiation is manifested as a blue glow in the cooling water - Cerenkov Radiation.
