Many of my power tools(Festool) use only metric parameters...forcing me to pick up a metric tape measure and caliper. :D Fortunately, most speaker driver dimensions and speaker design software is also in metric(and standard), so it's really not an issue.

Yup, 6 months as of 8/4. She just started trying to crawl this morning. In a week she will be all over the place and it will be time to truly kidproof as best I can. Time to make sure all my wires are in places she cant get too easy

Can use that same pic for countries that don't give 2 hoots about going metric. I mean seriously, is this suppose to be a big deal because when it comes to big deals, I can think of many other ones worth the effort.

Depending on the field you work in, this is a very big deal. I would love to see it changed and it doesn't even affect what I do that much.

.....and that's why it means squat and there's no rush to change it. It may make certain industries harder to deal with the conversions, but not enough to warrant a mass change.

Here is the Imperial measure...according to Chrysler, circa 1965. As you can see, Imperial measure is "big".

In Canada, we moved to the metric system back in the '70s. In doing so, I found the best transition was 'time', when we went to metric clocks and calendars.

But..but... we have been told for decades now that "diversity" is a good thing.

Well I guess it's good in everything, except for opinions,.... and measurement systems.

I like my horseheads-per-square-bushel units thank you very much. It was good enough for my grandfather... actually, no wait he lived in Europe.

I use both at work. Not a big deal other than the extra work in conversion. A lot of CAD programs do this for you automatically. but it is still a pain when you also have to manually handle tolerances on drawings. Aside from this, I greatly favor temperature measurements in metric.

Spotted in Fort-de-France, Martinique, is this awesome street art mural that incorporates the tree situated directly behind the wall of the artwork. The piece was done by Nuxuno Xn. The photo was taken by Rosali Rodrigues and submitted to Street Art Utopia
