Still crowned King, the 18.3 comes standard with all Funk Audio components; designed and built in house, and purposed to work seamlessly together. This subwoofer provides the amazing sound quality, low distortion, and dynamic headroom of our 18.0, in a package that gives greater output in the 14 – 40 Hz range; as much as two 18.0s, for less cost. The 18.3, being a passive radiator design, will give you the best of both the sealed and ported designs.

    •Funk Audio TSAD18v1 driver
•Dual Funk Audio PHSAD18v1 passive radiators
    •Funk Audio 2.4kW x1 M3 amplifier
    •Full DSP control*
•Cabinets drivers, and amplifiers, are built in Canada by Funk Audio

    •Baltic Birch construction
•1.5″ thick front and rear baffles
•Comes with rubber feet or carpet spikes

It would cost much more than that to build those yourself. IMO, it's a bargain for those particular subs.

No offence meant to those with expensive tastes in audio equipment, and I'm sure I've never heard anything close to what these are capable of producing, but I won't ever be able to justify dropping that much on speakers. Sorry, just can't join that club.

Thanks Steve; It's a 1979 split-level on a half-acre. The house isn't anything fancy, but the yard does have woods and a creek, and my shed has a dedicated 30A panel. :)

+1, Funk Audio subs are highly regarded even by other subwoofer builders over at the AVS forum.

He's eating well, nice cat. I have to keep a real close eye on my pugs when they're out back, for the same reason. They wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell.

Here Kitty kitty....he's looking for those Turkeys that were wandering about a few days ago. Judging by his belly, I think he may have had one or two already.

Four thousand, nine hundred and three old TV and radio tubes (most with 5, 8, 19, or 33 volt filaments for series-string sets) - and one weak Mullard EL34 and seven US-made 12AX7s with bent pins.

I'd probably risk thirty smackers to root through them - I am oh-so-familiar with the grimy hands that result from pawing through vacuum tube pulls :-P

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that even the boxed tubes are likely not all NOS but some reboxed pulls, too.

It has to be your hobby that you can spend tons on time on picking through and testing all the tubes; the days of buying a tube stash and selling the singles for money is about gone...
