Cleaning Glossy black top of LSi speakers

I tried cleaning the glossy top of my LSis with a spray I though was distilled water, but apparently there was some kind of chemical in it. The gloss looks kind of hazy now. Is there anything I can clean it with to bring back the glossy look?

It depends if the chemical etched the plastic. There are polishes made for plastic, do a google for them.

Some folks here use Armour All. If that doesn't work, try a 60/40 mixture of Clorox and comet.

Seriously, the glossy looks nice, but it is a pain in the ass to clean. Whatever you put on them makes it worse. To be honest, I never used anything at all to clean them except a dry cotton cloth (usually whatever shirt I was wearing at the time.)

I use a guitar polish to clean my Lsi15s and have great results. Its dunlop formula No. 65.

I use a large soft camera cloth. Works great and no build-up.

I use Martin Guitar Polish with a guitar polishing cloth. Easy to find and works well.

My oh my, is it early for F1nut? Do you REALLY think Clorox and Comet might etch the plastic?

Maybe two teaspoons of Armour All in the morning will keep you more regular.

Early - I hope you dont put armor-all on a gloss finish, that will literally destroy it...

I WAXED my 80 dollar high gloss TV stand with my drill buffer... best move I ever made, COMPLETELY cleaned it up and removed the hair line scratches - but now my TV slides very easilly.

PS: I use McGuires wax and my soft foam (big) drill buffer... (about speed 3)

But only because of that drill buffer ball (20 bucks at Advance)...

Thing is freaking awesome... made my 15 year old alloy wheels look brand spanking new... - great little tool.

I can honestly say it works. It is so much better than a regular buffer for waxing, its very even and well, its just better... lol

That goes for your TV stands (like mine) and your cars. I waxed my truck with it, right after I had used a regular buffer and my truck became about 3 or 4 shades darker...

As for chrome, etc - like I said above, my alloy wheels look brand new, not a speck of dirt anywhere. It also cleaned my 15 year old diamond plate bed caps right up. Look brand new. Its basically doing 4 hours of scrubbing by a 400 pound man of muscle in the click of a button. If you can only imagine attaching a polish cloth to a high speed drill with some fine polishing liquid (must be a liquid, not a compound - YMMV) - it does a ton of work in next to no time...

PS: If you plan to use this on your vehicle for polishing the chrome - just get prepared to do alot of touch up/waxing on the paint - because this thing "slings" stuff every effing where. But its results are well worth the trouble of cleaning up its after math.
