I have some Esoteric 12 gauge I had in an old install from fifteen years ago and it looks and feels as good as it did when it was new. It is so soft and easy to work with you can bend it around anything, nice thick insulation that was easy to pull. Hard to beat.

    Strand count:

When compared against the same total wire guage, more strand count only has the advantage of conducting more freely above the 1kHz mark.
    The other advantage is bendability.

Lower Oxygen copper will be less likely to break with repeated bending (as with door installs) but you will probably wear your hinges out faster. there is an extremely small difference in conductivity that you wont notice.

Go get cheap wire. It's plain, but it'll do the job. Just get the right gauge for the job.
