Subs cutting out

Ok … well I have a problem. I have to amps… one I have not hooked up yet. The one hooked up is a 500 Watt Sony explod. When I turn on the jeep the light on the Amp lights up green and the subs kick in. when a song starts to play on the stereo its really low and the light on the amp dims and the subs cut out. What could be my problem? I have the ground wire bolted to the chasse and the paint where it is bolted it sanded off so it is a clean ground connection. What else could it be? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

nvm i got it working... silly me had the 12V and the REM mixed up... dont ask me how or why... lol thanks
