Everything I own burned in the fire!!!!!!!!!!
I'll give it a go...
I'm all for the 80's New Wave resurgence, but it's been real hit and miss (more often the latter)
Interpol does it perfectly
the Editors are great
as are Bloc Party
the Rapture
but the Killers, Elephant, Rock Kills Kid, etc. -- it's getting tired
I rather just throw in some Cure, Joy Division, New Order and be done with it
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
Joy Division and The Cure are amazing If you like those bands you might like AFI.

Personally, I love 'em, but they're not for everyone. You'll find a lot of people here on the forum actually prefer the 60's. To answer your question, though, the 70's are very well-balanced at their pricepoint, and where they might not come off as the most "crisp" or "deft" of speakers, they are extremely smooth from top to bottom and require very little bass management.
Give 'em juice and you'll find their bad rap is quite unjustified -- they certainly benefit from it.
I like the 60's better.Originally Posted by zombie boy 2000
