    Question SDA 1Bs versus 2.3TLs

Last week on Ebay a set of 2.3TLs went for only $355...yet there is a current auction for 1Bs and they jumped right to $370 and they seem to consistently pull decent bids? What gives from you experienced Polksters? Is there a problem with the 2.3TLs or are just the 1Bs that much better. I alway monitor the auctions to ensure these orphaned speakers go to a good home.

I'm sure that others will chime in,,the 2.3's that you mentioned looked a little rough to me and the cost of shipping those babies to atlanta would be somewhat prohibitive, not to mention farther,I also have relatives in the area who could have p/u and held for me,but that would have required another road trip,,and that's another story in itself.I've seen them go for much more, and for someone relatively local,it was probabally a pretty good deal,gasoline/shipping being what it is. :)

I saw at least $400 in replacing tweets and some mids plus $650 freight charges. Good deal if local.

With $3 gas, 300 pound speaker auctions are all about location. The seller must have a buyer with the $$$ that is within easy driving distance, unless you are Joe P., then as long as it is in North America and he gets a boner for that particular model, then all bets are off.:D

Condition and location can go a long way on pricing. IMO the 2.3TL will blow the 1B out the door.

ROTFLMAO!!!! I have to admit it...when I REALLY want something, I go for it. Although having learned more about the big SRS speakers, I would have held out for the SRS 1.2 TL's. HTRookie got a pair with that gloss piano finish, the same finish that were on the SRS he sold me, and man do they look good!

Those 2.3TL's had a lot of issues. The tweeters were cooked, at least one mid-driver was cooked, just about all the mid-drivers had their dust caps pushed in, the side panels looked like they had paint on them and there was no mention or picture of the grills. Bottom line, those were very abused speakers and I wouldn't have taken them for free.

    Edit: No interconnect cable either.
