    Question Overdrive

I have just purchased the new R50 in the quest to assemble a nice home theatre system. I have my mind pretty much made up on a PSW 350 for my sub but an a little unsure of my center and surrounds. My receiver is an Onkyo TX DS-595 with 75 WPC RMS @ 8 ohms. Max output 140 WPC @ 6 ohms. Polk recommends that the right speakers to go with the R50s are R20s (100 W max) and a CSI 20 (80 W max). Will these do the job just fine or will I overdrive the speakers and end up trashing them? PLease help me!!!!

You will not overdrive your speakers in this scenario. Underdrive if anything. That receiver will begin to clip and distort way before you reach power levels exceeding your speakers, and THAT can and will damage them.

I don't forsee you trying to push your rec that hard, most people don't. The setup should work great together.

    Cheers,

Indeed, that should prove to be a very enjoyable home theater environment.
