    Question Your pocketbook

From the short span of time I have been here, I have seen a vast difference in members systems. This ranging from a simple 1k rig all the way up to 10k.

Instead of asking what you own, I am curious as to how much you have payed for your audio obsession... How much cash have you layed down on audio? Be it home theatre, 2 channel or car.

Without putting incredible amounts of thought into it, I would say I have spent a little over 2 K on audio-all together. The depressing factor is that half of the money spent was on completely crap that I ended up giving to my friends or parents. Call it a harsh lesson learned. My budget is incredibly limited so purchasing the latest and greatest is not an option, its torture...

I'm in for at least 3k on currently applicable devices; it's only the start though, because I'll soon best that on a 2-channel system. Criminy!

Including my DJ gear, about 5k. (very rough, and probably more)

Thats just hardware, if you want to include media - double that.

That includes speakers, amps, receivers, preamps, dvd player, cd players.

    2ch
Dahlquist DQ-10's, Carver m1.5t amp, Adcom passive pre, AMC cd8b cd player

    HT
    Denon 1801 receiver, RT7's, R10's, CS400, Paradigm PDR-10 sub, Tosh 2705 DVD player, Carver m0.5t amp

I ALWAYS use an ass-gasket. Never hover because of splash down and back splatter. I also float landing pad made from TP for a soft landing to avoid the above. One can never be too cautious when dealing with the general public. - RonP

    ATC,

Man, you don't need a fortune to set up a decent rig....consider looking at some used gear. In the 2ch forum, Russ did a little exercise and we were able to put together some decent systems for under 750....

Coming in just under $8,000 for the entire Green Room, less the software, which is probably close to another $1,300.

    Peace Out~:D

I've pretty much settled on my equipment, hmm that Hovland HP100 preamp sure is tempting! I'm also looking into tube amps (Sonic Frontiers or Manley Labs). No WAF for me to fear, I'm divorced.
