Default How do I remove wall speakers??

    Hello all,
Just moved into a new house and some Polk wall speakers are mounted on the wall. I can't figure out how to remove them. They look like they were large surrounds. They are an odd shape with seperate tweeter and mid and the enclosure has 2 plastic discs on the rear that seem to be some kind of axle for mounting. A sticker on the discs says point arrow towards rear (or something like that). I've pushed, pulled and pryed, but can't seem to get them off. Anybody know the trick?

    Jason

They might have a keyhole slot...try lifting them up a little bit.

    Default here's more...

pryed em a bit and I see a flat plastic bracket with screws on the wall. The connection between the plate and enclosure is at the top near those discs. BTW they are mounted upside down, so discs are usually on the bottom.

    "They are an odd shape..."

They sound like they are M-3 or M-5's. You should be able to squeeze (real hard) the side pieces of the mounting bracket together and the speaker will slip off. I have some M-3's, but I lost the bracket a few moves ago - I don't think they have key-holes in the mounting plate though.

I guess I would call them triangles from a side profile. Wish I could see the model number.

    Thanks for the help guys!!

I think you will need to run a flat-bladed screw-driver up the side of the bracket where they contact the speaker. Pry a little and they will pop off. They are farily heavy so don't drop it on your head. Actually, I think you will like the sound of the speakers. They are some of the best sellers from Polk.
