I have a 6 Channel JBL 755.6II amp currently running my front, rear, and sub. It don't really have the umph to power my Polk MOMO's. So I am thinking of getting a JLB 300.4 amp (123.5wx4) to power my MMC6500 (125w RMS) and MMC650(60w RMS). Grant it I'll be overpowering the MMC650's but I'll turn the gain down to protect them. It's almost a perfect match for the MMC6500's.
So aside of adding more power I want to run my front and rear tweeters off the 6 channel amp with the sub. Then run the 6.5's off the 4 channel amp. Another reason I want to do this is because the tweeters are just too bright for my taste. Having them on seperate channels should give me the freedom to turn them down a bit.
So this brings me back to a question I think I asked before here or not. Do I just use a RCA Y-Cable to split the RCA outputs for the two amps? Or is there a better more professional way to do this?
Also any comments on this setup would be appreciated.
I was thinking of just splitting the RCA outputs right behind the headunit. With all the long RCA cables I got it would be a breeze to run more cables plus you wouldn't see the split. Thoughts?
