    Question RTA11TL Specs

Does anyone know the specs for the Polk RTA 11TL?
The polk site lists specs for the RTA11T but not the "TL" version.
Searching the 'net I found one reference which claims-
    Polk RTA11TL: 8 ohm, 29Hz to 25kHz +- 3dB; 90dB @1 watt.

This is very different from the specs listed for the "T" version
    Polk RTA11T: 6 Ohm, 18Hz to 26kHz, 94 dB efficiency)

It's hard to beleive the two models would have such different specs.
    ---

I have a pair of TL's which I really like, but I didn't get the owner's manual so I have no idea what the actual specs are. They do sound good though:)

    Welcome to the forum.

The RTA 11TL uses different tweeters (SL3000) and a different crossover (BE4100-A) than the RTA 11T which uses SL2000 and the BE1000-A crossover. This could account for the difference in impedance and efficiency that you've found on the net.

Click the "Contact" link and call Polk customer service. They'll mail you a copy of the owner's manual if they have it in their files.

Well, if you found the Polksda site, you should look around a little more:
    http://www.polksda.com/pdfs/RTA_TL_Sales_Brochure.pdf

Looks like the specs you found on the net match the sales brochure.

Welcome to the party. Can you direct me to the nuklear wessle?

Low powered amps and receivers will fry those tweeters. What are you feeding them with? Do you plan on keeping these for awhile?

I'm running these speakers with a vintage Harmon Kardon 670 receiver (60wpc).
My listening room is fairly small, and I'm not into LOUD, so I've never gotten close to clipping. Of course, I do like bass though...

The RTA11TL's with the HK670 is the best setup I've ever had. I recently recapped the HK.
There's always something better out there somewhere, but I'm planning to stick with this setup as long as possible!

You might want to try the RDO198-1 silk dome tweeter instead of the tri-lams. I had a pair of RTA 15TL's and that upgrade made a big difference. Mention to customer service that you're a member of the club for a discount.

You might also consider rebuilding the crossovers on those. ;) :)

I second Halo's recommendations. I did both and they took what was already a very good speaker and made it better.

    Default New Too!

I am new to the forum, and have some of the same questions as Chekov, just different.

I recently picked up a pair of monitor 11t's from ebay for $190.00 (local Pick-up).

They are in like new condition, sonically and cosmetically.

Are these actually rta11t's or some variant? They are identical to the pictures of the rta11t's on the sda website.

I will try to post some pictures if i can.

    Thanks

They're RTA 11T's. Nice speaks. Do the tweeter upgrade - you won't regret it.

    Welcome to CP :)
