Onkyo has a web site that offers refurbished units at pretty nice prices.

Onkyo receivers are not bleeding edge, but they'll definitely hold down the fort until, or if, you decide to upgrade and go the pre/power amp route.

    http://www.shoponkyo.com/

    Used is another good option.
Audiogon has excellent deals quite often; see something there that looks nice, and get some input from some of the folks on Club Polk. A little pricier, but you might get more bang for your buck that way.

Also, keep an eye out on Fry's site.

ive been looking online a couple times daily for the past couple months for deals online. id say the best places are either advertised specials at frys.com, secondact.biz is quite nice as well for refurbished items, you should also check out craigslist, ebay and audiogon daily for new updated items for sale to get the deals before someone else. good luck looking for deals. if the item is fairly new and popular pricegrabber.com should give you plenty of results to chose from and you can go check out the ratings of each individual stores at www.reselleratings.com. have fun shopping online :)

Ubid, com is also a source for refurbished (several brands) as is accessories4less.com I purchchase 2 Onkyos and a Denon as refurbished, The onkyos looked brand new, the Denon was filthy... Same thing for a Onkyo and Denon DVD changer, The Onkyo was flawless, the Denon looked like it was straight from a college frat house... The Denon died after 4 months...

Here is a link to ebay for an AV receiver sold directly from Harmon Kardon. They are refurbs but are like brand new and under full warranty.

if you are looking for a new receiver, circuitcity.com always has good deals on Onkyo ones. might have to wait a couple weeks for them to go on sale though.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned www.audiogon.com yet. Some retailers sell their closeouts on the site..

Or you could buy from an authorized dealer who offers friendly service and warranty. Buying NEW online is KILLING the industry. Used is a different story.

I have the H/K AVR 335 and for the price its awesome. It has lots of power and sounds very smooth. The 635 should be better. Check out ebay link for H/K direct sales.
