    Question Getting a sub

I have a medium sized room with Polk R50's as the fronts, R15's as the rears, and the CSi20 as a center. I dont have a sub yet and i dont know if I should get a PSW350 or a PSW550. I really like how both sound, but I like how the 550 looks more. Looks arent very important, but I just want a good polk sub, so i can have an all polk system. Which should I get?

    Default 350 vs 550

Okay, this may be good for me to answer, since I have owned both subs and done comparisons.

First, the 350 will go slightly lower and play slightly louder. In my opinion, it offers more bang for your buck.

I actually like the amplifier on the 550 better, I noticed less hum, and the auto on/off worked better.

Also, the 550 very musical, features a Power Port which theroretically enhances performance. Polk also boasts that the 550 has significantly less bass doubling, a type of distortion.

You're right, the 550 looks better, but weigh that as you will, It's pretty ugly in my opinion with the grill off, because the driver is TINY, but how often does that matter?

In conclusion, I thought the 550 was just a little cleaner, and punchier, but the 350 was a little deeper.

Hope that helps, if you have any questions, just ask.

What do you know about the 450? I was weighting it abainst the 350 and still havnt made up my mind. I was also considering the Velodynes.
