Is PSW10 enough power for

2 fronts of lc65i, 1 center lc265i and 2 lc60i surrounds or do i need more power. I don't need to get blown out of my 17'x18' room but want something to compliment everything else. I haven't decided which receiver i want but one also to compliment everything as price does matter. I'll be using a 42" philips plasma 42pf7320a. All i want in everything is a good solid sound for in-wall set-up. I appreciate any help, thanks.

So you have $2300 worth of inwall speakers. Running from Polks top of the line series and you wonder if the cheapest sub that polk makes ($239 retail - often free) is a good match for them? Short answer is no.

I would do some checking on running recievers with the LSi series of speakers. (what your inwalls are based on) To save money purchase used rather than lower quality - you will end up with much better sound in the long run. Recievers can be done, but not inexpensively.

What is your budget for sub and electronics?

He's right. With that speaker selection, you really need to think you electronics out. You cannont use most receivers, but there are a few that will do the job.

Lol, MCloki i see your point. Why make the expense only to finish it off with a crappy sub. Ok, so i upgrade to a better sub but what receiver, sub, and amp would make the better compliments with what i have. What about a psw303, is that enough.

Honestly, wait until you get a decent pre pro before you decide what to get for a sub. That will be more important than a sub, I can promise you. If you purchase an amp that can't drive the load, they will sound like poo... so make that your biggest investment first... and make sure whatever amp you purchase has plenty of reserve, as that will improve your bass as well.

After that, go with something by SVS instead of Polk. It is the overwhelming opinion of this forum that SVS' subs will give you better bang (and SQ) for your buck than Polk's will.

What are your main concerns with the sub? (price, size, power, musicality, etc.) I assume your system will be used mainly for home theater, is this correct?

For HT, SVS or HSU are great places to start looking. Some of polk's higher subs are pretty good for music, but they just don't hit deep enough (in my opinion) for really good home theater...

Let us know what you can afford and what is important to you - we will help with the rest. (BTW - used ok, or do you really want new?)

You may be able to get a little cheaper than that but not much. (you could get a hell of a lot more expensive as well) BTW - those prices are typically for used gear (especially for the AVR) Is that what you were thinking, or way over/under budget? (the more you spend, the more options you have....)

I would like to keep the rest of the budget at around $1,500 give or take a few bucks. My concern with the sub is price and enough power not musicality. I want bang for the buck but good quality as well and don't know if they come together.
