Default Christmas tree destroyed my LSi9's

... well the sound anyways. So the listening room (which is also the front living room) is where the Christmas tree has to go. Its a 7.5" tall tree... your regular artificial one bought from Sears. Put it on the other side of the room from the 9s, next to one of the couches, but now for the life of me I cannot get any joy out of the 9s. They sound bright and lacking life. I played with the sub positioning and all, but get no pleasure out of them.

I have no idea why this made such a dramatic difference. I guess I just have to deal with this for a month while the tree is up. :( Unfortunately I cannot figure a better place for the tree.

Any ideas on what else I could do?

bummer. On another note, we just put up some lights(not enough room in our apartment for a tree) and my oldest boy(3yrs) went nuts. He kept saying thats amazing, and smiss miss(his version of Christmas). The youngest(17 mos.) Was just making goofy smiley faces, and was squinting. Then he ekked out his version of amazing, There are no letters in the English language to describe it.

Well, think of it this way. Christmas is a time for giving so you need to ask yourself one simple question. Will I feel better inside knowing that the other people close to me are happy with the unselfish sacrifice I have just made made? Well Do Ya....

Phew... atleast it's only a temporary destruction.

I thought the tree fell and knocked over the 9s.

Agreed. No tree here until the 20th. The whole family will ALL decorate the tree. Old tradition, but a lot of fun.

I know about that. According to my wife the loacation of my 2 channel rig is THE perfect location for the tree. Oh well, I can always listen to the HT rig for a couple of weeks.

agreed.. it's a wee bit early to have a Christmas tree up already. I usually put mine up two weeks before.. and even that feels to long. I always take the dried up root down the day after too.

My neighbor keeps her Christmas tree up till Valentines day. Seriously, she does.

Hey man, get those kids a tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get a small one if you have to,just get one. I go thru hell every year to get it done. We have to cut our own tree down, she likes long needle pines and it has to be perfect. So we hike thru some field for hours till we get the right one. Then I go home and move EVERY piece of furniture so the room looks right to the wife. Christmas isn't about a good time for dad, it's for the wife and kids. If you do a good job the reward is seeing the joy in your families faces and the reward the wife gives you because she is proud you provided a great holiday, Buck up and take it.

    Two comments:

1.-Dude: Agree on GET THEM A TREE!!!!; you can even get a very small one.

2.-Anonymouse: Your 9's won,t sound any good until the tree breaks in; give it 100-120 hours of play and you'll hear a difference :)

I play it Cathy, just not as well as I used to (if you snooze, you loose your chops.) Mine's a '56 B-3 with same vintage Leslie 122. I'll try to remember to snap a pic of it.

I kind of like the "bloom" that a 10 foot tree introduces to my rig:p
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Well we went to the dollar store today and bought a 2ft. christmas tree. Then went to wal mart for some other stuff (food) and the likes. We got home and the younger boy was already asleep. So Mommy, TJ and daddy(that's me) set up the little tree. I then put the lights on the tree. TJ and I put on the gold stars garland and the jingle bells garland. TJ and I then put on all of the oniments as Mommy got them ready for us. TJ put on all of the silver bells buy himself and Mommy put on all ot the bulbs. The stars, and the jingle bell garlands wer actually necklaces (they had clasps that we left unhooked, and the bulbs were glass grapes on vines that Mommy disassembled and made into bulbs. I put the star on top. All in all it cost around 12-15 bucks, and does not look to bad. I'd post picks but our camera is having issues. We had a ton of fun. The tree now resides on the top of the dvd player on top of the entertainment center, (dvd palayer is too deep to fit on the shelves and can not close the door) no worries of Mick killing the tree, or getting a hold of galss bulbs with it on top of every thing. And even with the light on the treble does not get to bright.
