    Default Isolation Discs

I recently purchased some isolation discs from a guy in Ontario Canada for the purpose of experimentation. They are hand made out of metal (aluminum) and for the price I was willing to experiment.

I used the 4 ball bearing discs under my CPD and left them there for approx. 3weeks until I became accustomed to the sound. After that period I removed them and did notice that the soundstage was not as high as it was before. The isolations discs actually move the soundstage higher up toward the ceiling. I kind of thought that I was imagining this and flipped back and forth for a while to be sure that I liked the sound better with the isolation discs in place. These are very simple disc with ball bearings. The seller kept e-mailing me to see if I was satisfied and if not he was willing to refund all of the money, about $35 CAD.

I made further communication with this gentleman and he is actually starting up a little business. He mentioned that he had made an audio stand and I asked for a photo. This stand is very nice. These are hand made and he indicated that the columns could be power coated black and maple shelves put in for a little more. The columns can even be filled with sand or shot or whatever.

I have no affiliation with this gentleman other than the fact that the I purchased some discs from him. When I assemble my 2CH rig next year I will be seriously considering this stand. I can image what a pair of Cary 805's would look like at the top.

His design is similar to the Solid Tech Rack of Silence. He should consider adding spikes for the legs.

I would imagine that it would be available with spikes at he indicated it is completely modular.
