Alpine PDX

Anyone have an opinion on these amps? I currently only have SR6500's and would like to add an SR sub but don't really want to take up more space than I have too. So I was thinking of a 2 channel PDX for the SR6500s and the mono for the sub. This way I can just stack the amps up.

Theyre excellent amps.

A teammate of mine uses them in his system and loves them. He also took Best of Show (highest score) at finals last month.

I would personally prefer a A/B amp for my highs/mids. But, supposedly Aline's PDX Class D amps are every bit as clean as an A/B amp.

Not me.

If I could afford it and had the room, I would stick a full range Class D on each speaker.

I like the idea of each channel being totally independant of the others. Absolutely no chance of cross talk.

But thats being extremely nitpicky. Its doubtful anyone could ever even notice the difference but its just one of those things that it would sound better because I "thought" it did. :D

Well I didn't notice that the mono version is $800! If they had a 500 - 600 watt version I'd consider it but I don't want to spend that much on the amps. Or I could keep the 400.4 and just get the mono but that doesn't solve the space issue. So then it would just make sense to get the 500.1.

Oh well, I don't have time just yet so I can think it through.
