No. That is not an 800 watt amp. It only makes 360 watts at 2 ohms.

    Kenwood 850 watts for $240

    Kicker 750 watts for $322

    Clarion 800 watts for $230

There are 3 very good amps with enough power to push those DB's. Out of the 3, Id take the Kicker but the Clarion and Kenwood would work as well.

    Class AB Mono???

You need 700-800 watts RMS at 2 ohms mono.

If the amp will make that, get it.

Forget the peak ratings, and concentrate on the RMS. I think that Boss is fairly low end, and you could probably do a lot better.

Of the three Mac linked, I too would take the Kicker. If you don't mind buying online, I'd look at Rockford Fosgate, MTX, or even Profile over that Boss amp. For the db212-2 system (2 ohm load), look for a Class D Monoblock to provide best bang per dollar.

If you were to state your maximum budget, someone could steer you towards something that will make those subs do their best. You may not even need to amplify them to their maximum rated power- if you haven't heard it in person, that box is loud...:D

Punt the Boss. I 3rd the Kicker nomination of the 3 up there. Maybe a RF if its the right model and price. Better yet, click this auction for a MOMO amp for $200.00:

You get what you pay for.

If you can afford $300 for an amp, that is what you should spend. You get what you pay for.

you cant spend $150 and get a good amp thatll put out 750 watts. Dont get the box if youre going to put a Boss amp on it...

www.onlinecarstereo.com has the kicker zx750.1 for $280 shipped. If you want to get that box, youre not going to find a better amp from a reputable seller for that price.

The Kenwood is ok but Id still take the Kicker. Itll be built a little more solid and hold up to a pounding. Kicker amps are proven in the SPL lanes; Kenwood aint.

well i think the kenwood is more in my price range. but i have been looking at the box at circuit city, and it was 299 now its like 370, i think.... mabey i was wrong about it being 299, but ne1 know where to get it cheaper? 350 is the best i can find.
350 for the box and 150 for the amp puts me around 500 plus some shipping unless i can get it free which i think i can. that is in my price range i beleive, and how much is a wiring kit? i should get 4 ga right? will i need a cap? or do i just need the kit box and amp? i can install it with my dad i beleive if thats all there is i need.

ive had nothing but problems from the new kenwood amps. I do NOT trust them. Weve had multiple amps being bad right out of the box.

You shouldnt need a cap, but you will need a 4awg wiring kit. You can get one for pretty cheap at www.onlinecarstereo.com

Cody is right. You just dont have the money to get the system youre wanting. Its like saying, "I want a BMW but I dont want to spend more than $1500."

If you cant afford to get the proper gear, dont.

That box is a steal at $375. The subs alone are worth over $200 and it would cost you $500 to have a box like that custom made for you.

Do it right, save up a little longer and get the DB212-2 and then get the Kicker amp.

I've seen that box for $299 (on sale) at CC a number of times. It may be worth trying to negotiate- who knows- maybe they'll give you the sale price if you drive a hard bargain.

It would really be worth buying a quality amplifier if you go with the db212-2. I know instant gratification isn't so instant when you have to save up, or when you've got a box in your living room with no amp to power it :( .

In this case, I'll bet you'd end up unsatisfied with the sound if you went cheap on your amp, and end up buying another amplifier not too long after setting up a low end one. Just remember...used (especially entry level) car audio equipment is a losing proposition if you want to sell it and try to recoup your cost. You'd probably be better off going with a used higher-end amp or a discounted clearance model than going for an entry level one.
