Default Darla, question on your speaks...

After all this time, what's your long term impression of your Von Schweikert's? I'm really interested in the VR4jr MKII's....

Where else are you looking? Any fallbacks or alternates up your sleeve?
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Also looking at Sonus Faber towers as a possibility, at the end of the day though, nothing over 5 large a pair. I, like many others, have some other hobby's I have to feed too :D . The VS's have just really caught my interest--I like the seperate cabinet concept.

    Hi Steve,
The Sonus Faber Cremonas are awesome speakers. Also check out the PMC OB1's ($5500/pair), they are a newer British company and I gave these a listen, very good. Better than I thought they would be. I have been demoing speakers in that range recently and keep going back to the Gallo Ref 3.1's.
    Good luck

I love the VS. They are a very neutral speaker and sound very natural. They are excellent for 2 channel and also very good for HT. I highly recommend them especially at the prices they are going for now on the 'Gon now that the new models are out.

    That's because you haven't heard the VR4 jr! :)

I've spent a little time with the 4 jr's and they were pretty nice. Not enough time to ramble on about them.

I have spent a good amount of time with the VR2's which are pretty fantastic themselves. Very dynamic and a fun speaker to listen to. They do a lot of things well.

You really have to listen to a pair broken in nicely to hear how good they are.

I heard them at a hifi shop, they had been on display for a year or two so I'd think they were broken in. They were running off some pretty high dollar Audio Research tube gear. We just couldn't sit and listen for very long because there were other people in the room trying to demo stuff and they were actually there to buy stuff. :D

they were VERY nice from the 15-20 minutes we did get to play with them.

Didn't know there were so many "neighbors" in Columbus......there are at least 4 that I know now. We should do a small Ohio meet when the weather allows for a cook out....
