Okay, I hate Monster as much as the next person, for what they do as a company and their overpriced products, but I found a decent product they offer.
I tried a bottle of this stuff out today and so far it's pretty amazing. I didn't expect it to be super great (just some ordinary cleaner that's safe for lcd's) but it's actually quite nice. You get a very generously sized cleaning cloth (16" square) that has a weird clingly feel to it if you have rough hands. The bottle is 200ml / 6.76 fl oz. so it should last quite a while.
All you have to do is spray it on the cloth or monitor / screen and gently wipe. It only takes a couple seconds and then any residue that's left on the monitor from the solution looks like it evaporates, just how alcohol would on a smooth surface. The beauty of it is that it's totally streakfree. I don't mean windex "streakfree", I mean actually streakfree. You wipe it off and there's nothing left.
If you're looking for something that will be much much easier and better than the 'ol damp rag, give monster screenclean a shot. I picked mine up for $13 cdn, but the average person will probably be looking at around $30cdn. It may sound steep but if you're a cleanfreak or just happen to be in the market for cleaning supplies it's well worth it.
I don't know if it's safe for the glossy finish on my LSi's, but just the cloth alone with no solution works great for picking up the dust. I think if it says to use a damp cloth, it's better to just stick with that.
