Default Whats the speaker to show you the way?

So today I parted with my beloved DT BP10B

I knew them like the back of my hand and enjoyed their sound for nearly two years. They led me on an audio journey.

    Will be missed.

    What about yall? ;)

I miss my LS-90s. I had them for 12 years and I sold them to a fiend and every so often he tweaks me about them telling me how good they sound with "some real amplification". Bastard...
Anyone have some they would part with?

Some parts to monitor 10's That I bought for an Infinity project. 3 MW6500's and 2 PR's. I wanted the passives but then liked the woofers, so I figured I'd try the monitor 4.6's. When I hooked those up they sounded better than any of my infinity's. Many Polk speakers later I have become a vintage Polk junky.

Toss up between Boston A100's, when I was a teen, these were the cat's meow. However, what got me really hooked on audio was the Polk RT7's. Russ still has 'em.

Polk RTA-12B, when my friends dad owned them, and then I eventually owned a pair from ebay. I was into Audio at a young age, but the RTA really influenced my taste in speaker,

I guess this would have to be my new LSi15s. I've never had anything substantial before them, and although I plan on keeping them for about 10 years, something will inevitably replace them.

The year was 1985 and the speakers were Polk 5B's. My first experience with a real nice sounding speaker. Bought them used for $260 a pair. I was amazed at the sound of those little speakers so were my friends.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. It was around 1977, and it was the Yamaha NS690M. My first decent set of monitors. A Kenwood KA7100 integrated drove them. I had lots of audio stuff prior to these, however this was where the fire started. This setup was quickly followed by Threshold amplifiers driving Dahlquist DQ-10's, and then the DQ-10's were put in storage and a set of Magnepan Tympani's followed.

And what do you know! Almost 25 yrs later I am back to Magnepans :D

Twas a pair of Advent Large Speakers, with the classic scramble egg tweeters. A pain to get them refoamed these days, but they still sound very good. Forget what they were originally powered with, nothing very high end, but the sound was still phenom.

The speakers were BIC Venturi Formula 4's, purchased around 1976? (Dates and times from back then are a little fuzzy.) A friend had the flagship Formula 6's, but I couldn't afford 'em, so I went with the 4's.

These are still in my basement and in need of work, but I cannot locate parts or components anywhere for the original BIC speaker lines.

Amazing sounding speakers that sereved me well for 15-20 yrs.

A pair of Advent Legacy speakers I believe I bought new in 1984. They're in my son's room now, they will still sound great as soon as I refoam 'em.
