    Default XRT12 Issues

I installed a Polk XM tuner for one of my clients about 6 months ago or so, and we have been dealing with issues for quite some time. The problem is that the XM unit will default back to Ch. 1 periodically.

The unit is part of a whole house audio system and is never turned off. I am using Universal Remote Controls MX850, and have made it so that he can not change from preset to direct entry mode and none of the presets will go to channel 1, so it is not currently possible to change to ch. 1 if he wanted to without going to the unit or getting out the factory remote. Once the unit goes to ch.1 you can't change it unless you power down the unit and then back one.

Any ideas of what could cause this? Defective unit?

One other issue we have been experiencing is that the video feed from the XM will flicker on the screen. Have checked all cables and not sure why this is?

    Hello Kevin,
The problem is that the unit is not being turned on and off occasionally. The original XM control chip was designed by XM for car use. Whenever the car was turned on and off the tuner would reactivate the XM signal. When the tuner is not turned on and off it doesn't have the opportunity to do this. We have figured a way to correct this problem. The tuner would have to be sent to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite A, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address and a copy of the sales receipt and request the latest version of the tuner.
As to the video problem, are you using any type of video processing? Anything that "up-converts" the video signal?
    Regards, Ken

We are feeding the video feed thru a NAD T773 a/v reciever which does convert it to component video. Then runs to a Mits DLP TV, not sure model.

WOSV - is it possible to send the video feed straight to the TV to see if the problem still exists? Its possible there is a conflict between the NAD piece and the TV for composite signals.

    Thanks.
