    Default Cleaning gold plated terminals

I have an older amp with gold plated input terminals.

I've had some trouble with "clear" connections, and I can see that I really need to clean the input terminals (not just wipe off the dust).

I don't want to strip away the coating though...any suggestions?

Jewelry Cleaner? Maybe? I don't know. Just a thought.
I like speakers that are bigger than a small refrigerator but smaller than a big refrigerator:D

Just get some simple contact cleaner from Radio Shack if you need it quick, or pick up some stuff from CAIG. They make great stuff...look for the AV Survival Kit.

For something really cheap, you can use rubbing alcohol. Try to find the kind that is 90 - 91% alcohol. I've seen it in walmart along with the usual 70% stuff. I don't think that it is strong enough to strip off the plating.

Thanks. I didn't have any jewelry cleaner around, that sounded like a good idea. I did try rubbing alcohol and it seemed to work reasonably well.

I should be good for now.
