If those had 5-way binding posts, they'd be mine!

Of course, upgraded binding posts might have pushed the original MSRP over $70k. Nobody would buy THAT expensive of speakers. Haha

The same ad came up in chicago - same pics and everything - and when i asked about it's history he said that he moved to london on a missions trip and then ran out of money so his brother for los angeles shipped him the amp (to london) so that he could sell it for money (in america). sounds reasonable.

I guess the sad part is that people actually believe ludicrous stories like that.

Well, I got them cheap so I prefer not to make any kind of profit off of a forum member. Though unless someone wants them, I can settle with a trade for something of less value (like 2-300).

I don't have an amp/preamp and just started school. Don't see myself being able to buy gear for them so I'd rather find a new home for them.

There apperrs to be a well put together Eico ST70 on ebay at $299.00 with no bids. Ends in 23 hours. This should be a very good bargain at that price.

    ebay link

If you want to try tubes, this vintage amp might be for you. These have good phono sections and his mod to the 6GM5 power tube set is a good idea as they are nothing but 7591s in a different and more available format that opens up more opportunities to use vintage NOS tubes.
