That's a crazy low price.... HTIB or not, these things don't sound all that bad in a small room. Nice little birthday gift for a kid or something.

That receiver alone, probably based on Onkyo's least expensive HT model, would cost more than what Fry's is asking for the entire package.

I couldn't resist. One of these will be delivered to me tomorrow! :D This is my first audio upgrade in probably over 7 years or so

I couldn't find anything specifically about the RTi80, but I'm guessing these are towers similar to the RT800i, or RTi70, from some generation of the earlier Reference Theater series. Paired with a big center like the CSi40, there's nothing "lowly" about that IMO. Sure, they're not the proverbial "high end", with expensive finish and "chic" appeal, but every large RT speaker I have ever heard can do an outstanding job for HT when driven dynamically at near reference levels (80dB+). They sometimes don't get the respect that I certainly think they deserve (possibly because of the fairly basic equipment they are often associated with).

Just calibrate your system carefully with the new Denon, and enjoy it!

There are no Rti80's.... There were i70's, i100 and i150 in that version of the RT speakers.

oops, meant to say RTi70's. Got too excited. Started out years ago with a crappy HTIB Aiwa system. Found a deal on a better HTIB Polk system, found the forum, got the bug, and before you knew it I had the setup I have today. I had to force myself not to read the speakers/electronics forums here and at avs forums so I could further avoid upgrade-itus. :D But this Denon was too good of a deal to pass up. Can't wait to hook it up to my Polks.

Just playing... i think i'm going to hold out for another M-5150 if i continue on the Onkyo route. It is rather frustrating that none of them are 4ohm rated though. I should try some 4ohms on mine.... it never seems to strain or get hot when i run it.
