These actually aren't bad as far as older Infinity towers go...

$150 for a pair of SM152s. Loud as hell, and don't sound that bad.

Those do look pretty sweet. Are those ribbon tweeters? And those almost look like donut drivers or something
No, sadly... there was a model back then that i think had ribbon tweets, and they were pretty nifty.
What you're seeing is control knobs... they had a funky built in bass and treble adjustment i think.
The price isn't bad at all... i sold my old SM115s for $100, and they weren't half the speaker these are. They're big heavy beasts that will rock the hell out and sound decent doing so. Think like.... midway point between Cerwin Vegas and Monitor 10s.

Hahaha... i can see your gears turning.... I think they would sound pretty good on your amp, honestly. If i had the spare money, i'd grab them and we could check it out, since buying at that price isn't too risky. You could make your money back quite easily.
Here's a thread that goes into modding them in terms of bracing and stuffing. That was one thing that i noticed with some of the SM-series. They resonate a bit.

Might as well get them! I mean worst case scenario you have to sell your house to pay your speaker debts, but you can always build a house out of speakers so its really a win win situation
I'd get them if i had room for them.... but i'm stuck with skinny tower speakers. They wouldn't be a huge upgrade for me anyways, just something different.

Speaking of Infinity's, there's a pair of SM-122's here - http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/1511835676.html
And one that really caught my eye - http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/1511905395.html
Guess this is the slightly smaller version, for nearly half the price - http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/1511422648.html
And a Polk CS400, excellent price imo - http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/1511767581.html
If someone's interested in the center channel, let me know maybe we can do something about it.
Notice in the background the polk speakers.... I think. I can't tell which model, though, they're tucked back in the corner.

FOR ONLY $75!! Thats the cheapest I have ever seen this setup. I'm not sure if they actually know what they have, or they just didn't spend much on it in the first place
