Default My Spring Break in Moab

I got the first batch of pics loaded at Imagestation, yeah I know you gotta join to see 'em. I wasn't in the mood to load a few at a time on photobucket though.

Here's a link to the first 84 pics...

Nice pictures. Looks like you all had a lot of fun. It's always better to see more pictures of you all trailing, than pictures of you being broke down... :). I guess you all did not have many mechanical failures.
From the bottom it looks like a steep incline, From the top another down hill slope of mine. But I know the equilibrium's there! .."Faith No More" :D

Thanks! We had plenty of carnage too. 0ne rig lost 1/3 of the teeth on the rear pinion, that was a 4 hour trail repair just to get it back to town where it promptly seized a rear axle bearing on Main St., another rig tore off a rear long arm mount from the drivers side frame and cracked 2 welds on the passenger side mount due to bad welds. A couple of ratchet straps got him off the trail and back to town. Another Rubicon tore off the upper rear passenger side control arm mount off the frame in the exact same spot on the trail (Cliff Hanger) 3 days later. I had to swap my front drive shaft due to a failed u-joint and I also sheared the weld on the pasenger side short arm leaving the exit (asphalt) of Hells Revenge. The folks at Moab 4x4 rewelded it for me the next morning in about 2 minutes for a couple dozen donuts and got me back the trail.

We also had a rig that lost it's transmission on I-70 about 60 miles from Moab.

I thought it seemed a little too survivable of a trip. Sometimes the repair is just as fun though.

It was Spring Break for my 14 and 11 year old. I don't tolerate drunks on the trail or anytime for that matter....ever.

Upper 60's to low 70's just about every day. Thursday was cooler with a little snow on the rocks higher up.

I'm uploading a huge video file to Google Video right now. Hopefully it should finish in about an hour or two. It's about 30 minutes long and covers alot of the obtacles on Poision Spider Mesa, Golden Spike, Gold Bar Rim.

Deb and I were just talking about this trip and she said it was the pics of the scenery that really convinced her to go out to Moab the first time. Seeing it in person made her want to go back for this trip. She's absolutely right. Yeah the wheelin' is beyond compare, but this is why we wheel to begin with...
