I want to share my excitement as well:

new (to me) audio rack from Russman
new (to me) speaker stands (rack/stands for bedroom setup)
    Musical Fidelity A3.2 (thanks, Troy)
Musical Fidelity A3 CDP (about 50-50 on this deal on Agon)
repaired tweeter so Thiels will be singing soon (courtesy Thiel)
still need to hook up my PS Audio XStream Plus speaker cables (still in box)

Add that to the two new HD-DVD players I got last week, and 10 free HD-DVDs that should be coming in the mail someday (anyone gotten theirs???), and I'm about to be one happy camper!!!

My new to me thing will be Friday when I pick up a pair of SDA-1C's! I'm stoked!

Now, if only Fedex wouldn't have lost that 2nd Carver M-1.0t I boubght...sigh. I would've had hella power. Now, it's a quest again. I had picked up one from a friend in Rockford, IL and he dropped it off in an unmarked box, etc, it was scanned, picked up, then never heard from again. Oh well.

At least I have new SDA's on Friday! I just hafta unload those SL-3000 tweeters and get some new RD0's.

Yes, just like Christmas only you have to sell off enough crap to cover some of the costs of the new stuff.

I was able to sell my two old DVD players for the exact cost of the new HD-DVD players I got, so it was basically a wash financially and I ended up with two HD players and 14 new HD movies (10 due to two rebates, 4 from guy I bought second player from).

This hobby can be fun and affordable if you have enough time to find the best deals and an outlet to sell the old gear. Thank God for Polk forum (finding new deals) and Agon/CL/eBay (selling old crap).

    Hoorah capitalism!

Ironic...I'm a rep for Home A/V and I could care less about HD DVD or Blue-Ray! lol Oh well...one of these days. I just don't get into video enough to care about spending that money on it right now. Maybe when the Universal players get to $199, I'll be game! (haha) Or, one of the lines I rep does one. Right now, none of them want to "jump on the bandwagon".

    Maybe in due time...

I'm in the same boat. I am getting my Audio setup first. Although I did just buy a cheap projector, and a 120" screen(running at 9'). No HD till prices come down more, and for sure beta is going to beat vhs!

    Acoustic panels are here!

I bought these cable organizer thingys that are basically just a "routing" bracket - I bought two of them. I have very long power cords, and I wrapped it around the router thingy - cleaned up my mess considerably...

Getting new gear is like waking up on Christmas morning. I had my day last week when I picked up the Gallos. I get giddy when I walk past them now. :) Congrats on the gear guys.

    Panels are hung.

With restrictions of a closet door and studs - the side panels arnt exactly mirrored - the left one (no door) is ideal, the door panel is more so centered with the door and the same height as the other one. It will have to do.

The back panel - not sure of its effectiveness ---------- but I didnt want something like that directly behind my head...

I guess pics would help -

The panels are constructed OK - I could do far better with the frames.

Excuse the mess, Im in the process of change at the moment - everything is unplugged.

All the panels are black -

The back panel just has a lil more lighting at an angle I suppose?

So far, with no stereo plugged up - the most immediate difference is a slight deadness to the room. However, when I clap the two front corners still *bounce* - but I dont think I will need to add any to the rear corners - not much room to anyway.

You need to get something for those front corners; a couple of tri-traps would be great if you can fit them in there.

I was just going to get two of more of the panels I have now and hang them traddling the corner...
At 55 bucks a pop cant really go wrong.

But I wont be purchasing those until after I get my preamp paid for - amp, cables...

I just wanted to get these to get rid of the first reflections...

Why don't you get the PE acoustic panels? I have them and they seem to do a great job.
