I listened to the CD twice and I don't believe it'll ever grow on me.

    Hi Jared,
How does this compare with older NIN stuff? I loved NIN in the early days thru Downward Spiral. I have not bought anything by them past that.

Different strokes for different folks Dave. Don't make a blanket statement like that - a lot of people do not share the same opinion you expressed and that includes me.

I think YZ is fantastic. I liked it immediately.

Survivalism Part 1 & 2 are being released tomorrow with Year Zero being released on the 17th. Can't 'effin wait!

Dude, get a copy of The Fragile, And All That Could Have Been (Live), With Teeth, and have a listen to Year Zero at the link Gaara provided (listen to year zero is in the upper right corner - its free). You've been missing out on some great stuff IMHO :)

    V,

Hard to say as The Downward Sprial was the first NIN album I own. I love The Fragile and Things Falling Apart. With Teeth has some good songs on it but overall not as good as their others.

Year Zero is very different, has more of a dissoriented techno edge, doesn't sound like their older stuff.

Except for the Beside You In Time HDDVD, I haven't enjoyed anything from NIN since The Downward Spiral. It's a shame.

My bad for typing the word "opinion" in my original response.

You stated your comment as if it were a fact.

Simply placing "I think or IMO" in front of it changes the meaning.

    Do you see the difference?

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. I have no problem with that. Just state it as an opinion next time ;)

I haven't heard any of this yet, but the lead-up to its' release was fairly interesting.

I read news stories about the flashdrives being left at concerts with unreleased tracks from the new album and strange web addresses in them. All the sites associated with them were all related to some fake news stories and other information about some government conspiracy and terrorism. This all apparently had something to do with the story that the new album was supposed to be telling. All really fun stuff to read really.

I haven't really read anything in about a month so I don't know how it all worked out but I'll definitely have to check this out soon.

Maybe we're both passionate about certain bands, eh?

Who are you to wave your finger?
You must have been outta your head
Eye hole deep in muddy waters
    You practically raised the dead

Rob the grave to snow the cradle
    Then burn the evidence down
Soapbox house of cards and glass so
Don't go tossin' your stones around

    You must have been high

Foot in mouth and head up ass
    So whatcha talkin' 'bout?
Difficult to dance 'round this one
'til you pull it out. boy,

You must have been so high

Steal, borrow, refer, save your shady inference
Kangaroo done hung the jury with the innocent

Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
(Musta) got lemon juice up in your eye
When you pissed all over my black kettle.

    You must have been high!

Who are you to wave your finger?
    So full of it
Eye balls deep in muddy waters
    ****in' hypocrite

Liar, lawyer, mirror, show me. What's the difference?
Kangaroo done hung the guilty with the innocent.

Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
(Musta) got lemon juice up in your eye
When you pissed all over my black kettle.

    You must've been...

So who are you to wave your finger?
Who are you to wave your fatty fingers at me?
You must have been out your mind

    Weepin' shades of indigo
    Shed without a reason *
    Weepin' shades of indigo

Liar, lawyer - mirror, for you what's the difference?

Listened to the first 4 tracks on the album on the way to work this morning. I like it so far. It has a cohesive album feel to it.

Oh, and between the lyrics and the album art, being paranoid of the goverment will only make me like it more.

I saw the warning label from the department of morality. At first I thought it was real and I was getting REALLY pissed.

Did you call the number? It IS real!

There is a huge movement that has started behind the scenes of this album.

It is difficult to keep up with all of it at times but it is awesome at the same time.

I am on a list of people wanted by the Bureau of Morality (15 years in the future). Not everyone from the fan club (The Spiral) made the lists - not even close (1500 out of 16000). Many on the lists have been executed, incarcerated, or are deceased. I'm still alive and "at large".

How about the thermogenic CD? The binary code on the CD translates to a web site: link

What exactly are you dissapointed with? I, obviously, think it is amazing. Playing yz on an ipod, in the car, or on the computer isn't anywhere near as good as on the big rig IMO.

IMO the sound quality is great. Too bad the music itself isn't. :D

I like it. Seems to be a lot more modular synth on this one than With Teeth. Sound is stripped back and a little more raw sounding than the last one.
