I ALWAYS use an ass-gasket. Never hover because of splash down and back splatter. I also float landing pad made from TP for a soft landing to avoid the above. One can never be too cautious when dealing with the general public. - RonP

    Joe/Troy,
I doubt that platter is much of an improvement over the MkIV platter/bearing. We're talking diminishing returns here. I mean, what's the MkIV platter weigh? 20lbs? I'm sure its big improvement over the standard MkII/III platter or the solid acrylic platter that many of the current Aries/Scout/Scoutmaster models have, but I can't see much to improve over the MkIV platter. That was from the TNT line.

FYI: Music Direct has it for $1200

There are now two "super platters"; one for the HRX (30 lbs) and one for all other tables (25 lbs). They are also two different prices: $2000 and $1200 respectively.

As I previously mentioned to you, I may combine this and the Signature tonearm to the Scout and complete the TT for the next while.
