    Default The right sub?

For those of you who run vintage Polks for your HT, what sub do you use? I have never used one and was advised by a know everything friend that I just had to get one. If you run a sub, do you use it for movies only, or also with music (and I am excluding classical)? Thanks

Depends on what vintage Polk's you have.

I have 7b's, if I were not using them for movies, I probably would not have a sub. But with watching movies, I have 2 subs, both are DIY.

I would reccomend listening to different subs. Most manufactors have a 30 day return policy. But believe me, trial and error is unavoidable, unless your lucky enough to land the right one on the first shot.

IMO, subs are a must for movies. Watching a movie with and without a good sub, is like night and day.

But it depends on what you are using it for and price range. There are a ton of subs on the market, form $150 to $1500. Alot of factors come in to play when shoping for a sub.
