Default Half Price Books, RECORDS, Magazines. Duh I didn't know they sell albums

I found out by accident. I went there today and couldn't be more impressed. 19 albums for $52 and the condition is phenominal. Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Elton, Joe Sample, David Benoit, Chuck Mangione, Stanley Clarke, Van Halen, etc.

I live in the burbs so I don't have anything like that except the thrift store which has mostly scratchy and scratchier ones. I know time for a record cleaner. What kind of prices do the record stores have? Half Price has all theirs at $1.98 and $2.98.

Record and tape traders has them for about the same price new as www.acousticsounds.com (which is my all time favorite). Thing is, they only have a few, the latest releases, and often times for a few dollars more you can get the next step up audiophile version at acoustic sounds.

Oops I thought they were national but they're only in 13 states so far.

I went to the one closest to me at westheimer and kirkwood. I better not go the other ones. I must have had about twice as many picked out and then thought damn I don't need this many so I put a bunch back.

How long were you in houston?

For being a relatively small city, we here in Des Moines have it pretty good. We have two dedicated vinyl shops, plus a Half Price Books, and a number of Goodwill stores. The larger of the two vinyl shops has a good selection of both new and used at excellent prices. Whereas the other carries a lot of older, more obscure albums.

Considering that Kansas City (which is approximately 4 times the size of Des Moines) doesn't have any dedicated record shops to speak of, I've become much more appreciative of what we have here.
