    Good movie.

If you liked the first one then you will like this one. If you didn't like the first one you probably won't like this one.

Plenty of blood, plenty of gore, my kind of movie.

The last 10 seconds of the movie I started cheering. :D

This one is definitely on my list to see...soon.

Thanks for jumping in with the post.

I keep wanting to see the first one and always look at it when at the video store but something else always grabs my attention and Im afraid it would be a stinker and I dont want to waste my money.

So the first one is pretty good?

I love the first one. It's not like your typical zombie movie. Now I gotta see Weeks later.

The first one was good, but very oddly made. Seemed like a very low budget film (at least the DVD PQ suggests that), but entertaining for sure. This 28 weeks later looked more like a over the top, big-budget film. Is that the case?

The first one had a very grass-roots zombie movie feel to it.

The first one is fantastic, the 2nd one isn't the same guy making it, so I have my reservations.

Personally I liked the 1st one better for numerous reasons.

The budget was much less on the first film, and it shows in the lack of effects. A lot of the film was shot with digital camcorders instead of 35mm and it gives the film a dirtier look. 28 Weeks however looks amazing and has many over the top scenes (ex firebombing or the helicopter in the field) but I felt the first seemed more real.

I also liked how I didn't recognize a single actor/actress in 28 days but recognized three in 28 weeks. I also cared alot more about the characters and what happened to them in 28 days as opposed to 28 weeks.

Overall the are both good films but I like the first better.

Wow. I was impressed with the storyline and continuity from 28 Days Later. Similar music and shock value. Peeping sniper fu, infected eyeball squishy fu, infected toasted fu, infected gassed fu, infected lurking in the dark fu, infected sharing with family fu. Job Bob would be proud.

Watch the original before this one and you will have a fun time.

I agree with Jared. I related more to the characters running for their lives in the first movie. What the first flick lacked was more infected.

Second movie had more running for your life scenes which was great. However, one very dumb part of the movie (omitted because I don't want to mention any spoilers) practically ruined part 2 and the ending for me. They could have scripted the later part of the flick better to reach what was implied at the end of the movie (which was very cool). In other words, how it got to the end could have been much better written.

Without spoiling anything, the country they chose at the end was the best choice the movie could have made.

Saw 28 Weeks Later this weekend. Effin' fantastic to the nth degree. The opening scene has to be the single most intense cinematic experience I have ever had. My heart was still pounding its way out of my chest 30 minutes after the fact. Gritty... inventive... and utterly terrifying. I'll go on record as saying "better than the first".

I've seen just about every zombie movie put to celluloid (hence the screenname), and I'm thiiissss close to proclaiming it the best of the bunch.

Romero is hiding somewhere with his tail between his legs because he just got OWNED.

edit: I just noticed your Joe Bob Briggs link Polk65. He's a national treasure.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I wouldn't have said it if he hadn't spent two decades crapping out Land of the Dead.

Granted... Danny Boyle "borrowed" rather liberally from Day of the Dead in his first film. Most notably, the chained up zombie used to study and time its starvation.
