    Default Budget polk setup

Im putting together a budget 7.1 system but I need help with which center and which sub to buy...

    R50 - Fronts ($59 each from frys)
    R15 - Sides (45 used)
    R20 - Rears (50 brand new ebay)
    Csi3 - Center (80 used)

I was looking at the cis series, is this what i want or the csr?

I have heard polk subs arent very good, is that true?

    Center - CSi25
Sub - try a lower model Velodyne DPS-10 or SVS PB-10 if you're on a budget - that would be a good place to start. Welcome to Club Polk.

    Thank you for the welcome!
I wish I had picked that csi up from frys.com when I had a chance but I was still thinking about going the HT route or not.

I see a csi3 in the for sale forum; i wonder how much the guy is asking, would that be overkill compared to my other modest components?

Im off to research the sub suggestions; thanks!

Engtaz, can you get into a velodyne (used maybe) for a few hundred dollars?

I also noticed the fxi3 speakers, they look a lot nice; i have a small room and they would look great and i would think be better at spreading the sound? i wish i had seen the for sale thread before, 700 for the lot might have been a good deal for me.

Sorry for my lack of speaker knowledge.

    Welcome to the forum metric.

You made some good choices on a great budget system. Try to get the csi25 as that would be a perfect match for your speaks. If you can't, the cs2 and csi3 should still do great. I also agree with aaharval about the svs or velodyne(I can't recommend velo's lowest model though, the vrp, you'd be better off with a polk)

Haven't seen you post anything about how you are going to power them. Do you already have a reciever?

I think fry's has the csi25 on sale just about every 3 months. They'll come around.
