    Default Balanced to unbalanced

If a pre can put out up to 9 volts balanced, and is converted to unbalanced does the unbalance signal still have the same voltage as the balanced? I will be driving 3 amps with a combined 16k ohm input. The pre is rated at 10 K balanced.

    Thanks Ben

Got a link to more info? I've seen balanced outputs rated both as the ground to + (or -) potential and as the + to - potential. In the latter case the unbalanced output would be half the balanced. This is why amps that have a sensitivity switch usually label the one with the lower gain "balanced"

On the amp or on the pre
    Thanks UNC

The pre claims a max out of 9 volts. They do not specify balanced or unbalanced outs.

I will do that in the morning. Steve is very helpful, and I hope there is a simple solution. I am sure with more sensative amps this unit would fair better. All my adcoms have 50k inputs, and require up to 2 volts to operate properly.
    Thanks Ben
