    f/x1000: Are these intended as rears for a surround system? I've noticed some of you have them. The guy says they have nominal power...I think he might mean phenomenal power.

    some use them as both including my friend a Polkie. I use a different version as my back surround.

    Rear surround speakers and very large at that.

    I do not think they would sound good for much else but you can try anything.

    Yes, designed for surround. They are bi/dipole switchable. No problem integrating with large fronts.
    Fronts - LS-90
    Center - CS-400i
    Sides - FX-1000
    Rears - AB755 (2)
    Sub - SVS 25-31 PC-Plus
    Amp - B&K AVR317
