I have a pair of rti8's in which I do feel they sound bright at high volumes and it can be a bit irritating depending on the song. My question is what other speakers in this price range would suit me best for my 2 channel music listening? I use a HK3480 receiver and psw12 sub. What other brands and models are good to look into?

Before you change out speakers, tell us a little about the room treatments you have in place. Your room is the biggest determining factor on sound quality. Swapping out gear & speaks doesn't even come close to what room treatments can do to transform a room. Check into it.
