Default Adding a 2nd sub of lesser quality a bad idea?

I have a Paradigm Ultracube 10 sub that I like very much, but i've moved to a new house and the new room isn't providing very even bass. I'm thinking about adding a second sub to balance things out, and I have a spare PSW10 lying around.

Will the PSW10, being a lower-end sub, bring down the overall quality of the bass or do you guys think it'd be ok to add it to the system?

    thanks.

I always believe in trying first to see what your ears like it or dislike it. We can suggest something but it is you who knows what you like best. Try it to see is it works or does not. Good luck

What he said. It's better to try use a comparable sub or even a matching sub but mine don't match exactly (PB12 Ultra/2-PB12 Plus/2- new drivers) but they are close and sound great.

like engtaz said. That's the best way to find out, just don't forget to play with the settings to try and blend the whole system together

I wouldn't try it unless you already have the Polk sub lying around. A lesser sub will provide lesser performance and may make your situation worse. If your room is the problem, then another sub isn't gonna fix it. You'll need to calibrate your system. You may need to invest in a bass EQ system.

you also just might want to play around with placement of the Paradigm.

I've had the PSW10 and it was my first sub and it sounds like crap. It is way too booomy and easily distorts. I'd look elsewhere for improvements.

The weaker the sub, the more essential the placement. My PSW10 sounded like garbage just about everywhere but this one position that was a eyesore. In that position it sounded pretty respectable for what it is.

Well, the other day i was comparing my new psw1000 to my old velodyne cht8 and it was like night and day.....the velo sounded like rumbling mush.....the psw1000 sounded like a finely tuned base instrument....so there is no way i would include an inferior sub.....that muddy sound would contaminate everything you listen to in my opinion.
