    Default Alpine or Kicker?

I have 2 mm2124 they are 4 ohms, what would be better to push these subs the Alpine mrp m850 mono amp (800 watts rms x 1 at 2 ohms) Or the Kicker ZX750.1 (750 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms).

I would personally go with the Kicker. I've had many Kicker amplifiers over the years,my last being a ZX750.1, they have all been solid amps.

    Alpine.

Not only will it be built better, have no turn on/off pop but its also a perfect match power wise for a pair of MM2124's. Plus, I love all things Alpine! ;)

Thanks for the advice. I was leaning towards the Alpine more but as I wrote this I found a MTX TC8001 which is (800 watts rms x 1 at 2 ohms) how does it compare to the Alpine?. Sorry for the retarded questions but I have never put a system together before and I want to get the most out of my subs. thanks for the help.jb

Funny you should ask. I just so happen to be a huge fan of MTX as well. Not so much their speakers but their amps and subs are pretty bad ass. Id still go with the Alpine, but if you got a smoking deal on the MTX and it was considerably cheaper, I might lean toward it.

I have actually never had any of those issues with any of the Kicker amps that I have owned.

The MRP line is actually Alpines lower line, so I would still go with Kicker.:)

I might go alpine, although I like kicker as well but my friends seems to be childish, there is no ssf settings only on and off and if i remember correctly the lpf as well. It would appear they are build for kickers L7 so its probly ok if you are running one of those.

Those amps are more than ok for running the L7 or any other sub within their power range. I believe Kicker makes solid amplifiers. I would put them up against many amps out there, including Alpine.

At the moment I have what some would consider "high end" amplifiers...... I would not have any issues running Kicker gear in my car.

Alpine all the way dude! Dont look back! I feel (from my experience) that Alpine produces the cleanest sounding amps on the open mass market. Also they're top-of-the-line speakers and subs in my opinion cannot be more dead accurate. Straight up. Now dont get me the wrong but Alpine's subs hit really hard, but they are not the hardest deepest hitting. I just feel like they're the most accurate subs out there, and then again that was running off of an Alpine amp too.

No difference in sound between the two.

As for their speakers, their Type R stuff is a little harsh for me but the Type X stuff is quite good.

If you are happy with your gear, that is cool. Just remember that there are many companies out there that put out products equal to, or better than Alpine. Keep an open mind, and listen to what is out there.
