need advice on selling receiver with a problem

Ok here is the low down.

I am selling a receiver on Ebay.. the listing ends in a day and a half. I have zero bids, and 21 people watching it. Opening bid starts at a low $9.95

I always take my gear in for general service and or repair before selling it... always.. i don't ever fudge on trying to sell sub par gear.

Well, after listing to the receiver.. I hooked it up and did some extensive listening and found out the repair shop didn't do anything to clean and check it out other than replace 3 burned out bulbs.

I will be taking it back to said repair shop and throwing a fit at them. Although the work did they wasn't costly, under $30, they gave it a clean bill of health. How could they in all honesty give it a clean bill with the selector knob cutting in and out like it needs some DeOxit?

So my ? is should I end the auction early since there are no bids and get the problem with the receiver fixed then either keep it or relist it, OR should I just sell it as is, I have listed this problem on my Ebay auction.. so any buyer knows that it has been "serviced" by some kind of repair shop and is aware of the problem.

My feeling is to end the auction ASAP before there are any bids and then get it fixed/cleaned and then relist it. If I do this.. i'm only out a few bucks that Epay charges for listing it.

I would get it fixed then re-list it...Makes for less "I'm a moron and can't read" problems when the winner says he "didn't see" the problem listed in the auction....

i ended the auction.. opened her up.. used about a half can of DeOxit, and things are sounding better.. no mo crackling or cutting out.. so far so good.

I believe that one of the larger caps is leaking though. i seem some dried up rust colored stuff on the top of one of them.. the other cap looks ok though.
