audio research Ls1 versus Ls3

im thinking if getting a audio research pre-amp. would anybody know the sound difference between the tube Ls1 and the solid state Ls3. both very similar in price, the Ls3 a few years newer. thanks for any input. t.t.

I've been looking for a good Pre to match with my AR vt-60.
The AR SS is good, the tube stuff is better. Least to my ears.
Some of the hybrids seem to get very good reviews. Now if my wallet can come through.

i know what you mean, they are running $500-$800 these days for these were talking about. i like the sp9 also but someone always has deeper pockets when the time comes.
