I ALWAYS use an ass-gasket. Never hover because of splash down and back splatter. I also float landing pad made from TP for a soft landing to avoid the above. One can never be too cautious when dealing with the general public. - RonP
Good for you. Just remember....NO ROCK music.....;)
Oh, the bottle has been to me, my closes friend, my worse enemy!
Don't worry nascarmann, I sent the sesame street theme on LP, he should be just fine.....
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.
I hear ya Russman....had me worried there...
Oh, the bottle has been to me, my closes friend, my worse enemy!
Not that anyone but myself, Russ and nascarmann care....but:
BEEMERS are in the house! I'm stoked........Ima spend some quality time with 'em this weekend. A review will be forthcoming.
My public thanks to Russ, what a guy, I can't say enough about him, he really came through on this one.

A pawn shop down the street has some B&W DM602 S3 speaks for sale (black), in pretty good shape - only around $300 I think.Originally posted by nascarmann

They also have some Polk RT400's in really good shape, for around $250 I think.
I might pick up the B&W's just for fun... hehe :)

heh, heh, heh......
Well, Russ and I have quite a gear swapping ring going. It started with a pair of Sansui speaks that I swapped him for the Dave. Then I swapped him a Yammie C-40 preamp for a Fisher Integrated. Then I sent him a pair of RT7's and he sent me the beemers.
We sorta have this hippy gear community property thing going on. So, anything that we have to liquidate, pretty much the other has first dibs on.

So you're the one that ended up with my Yamie now? cool!!!:)
LSi's are on the list..........but they are a little pricey right now. Figure 1500 for a pair of LSi15's, shoot, that's TWICE what I got in my whole 2ch rig, amps and all!
Actually Pete, Russ ended up with your pre, but I'm sure I will be having it back at some point.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
'Political Correctness'.........defined
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
More on par, as far as design, RT7/RT5, RT35(i), RTi38, Monitor 5.
Cheers,
Russ
Were there any LS shelf models? I can't think of one....

I agree....one of the best for the money there is. IMO of course.
Did he get stands yet?
Oh, the bottle has been to me, my closes friend, my worse enemy!
Review will be forthcoming soon, as far as comparable model with Polk, it would be the RT5 or RT35(i). All sport a 1" tweet and 6.5" midbass, similar size cabinet.

Not yet I believe... the Wife halted his pursuit for now but I think he's got the long term bug. Karl has been on the road since Thursday but I'll tie off with him come Monday.
What type of Stands would be good for the 10b's? They would have to be pretty robust I would think?

The stands we use are about 8"-10" high and tilt the speaker upwards slightly....
Oh, the bottle has been to me, my closes friend, my worse enemy!
are they home made or store bought? any advice on availability and price?
***WAREMTAE***
Check these out. They can be had cheap and will work just fine.

You better bid on them for him. These are exactly what he needs. You/he can't go wrong with a $20.00 bid...;)

This is fun!

Good for you. Hope you/he doesn't get out bid. The Monitor 10B's NEED stands...

I figure if he does not want them I'll try them with my 8T's. I'm using them now for my surround rears. A little height won't hurt but I think they sound good in a 7 channel Stereo while in the kitchen or on the deck.
I guess I should explain a little.
The great room is both a Living room and dining room with the kitchen attached with a big bay to look into the great room from the kitchen. The dining room has a sliding glass door oposite the kitchen and when on the deck the 7 channel is great because I don't have to pump the volume up so loud that you can't talk in the living room. Seems ta work ok I guess????
