    I listened to a pair of Audio Note at my local dealer. They are of course great and overpriced.

    I fully appreciate that art is in the eye of the beholder; but some of those speakers have a look that only a mother could love. Sorry, it just had to be said.

    I believe the Genesis 1.1 used the Carver ribbon. You know, the same one that Bobalou marketed for $2,700 in its most expensive version.

    Yeah, why do all of them have to be so ugly? Does your taste change if you're suddenly able to afford stuff like that?

    Some of those offerings are just awful looking (so I assume they have to have a sound that's almost other world).

    There are some good lookers in the bunch, though. Those Von Schweikert VR11's look really sweet.

    Yeah, and some schmuck was trying to sell for around 20 large a few years back......I guess the Corian wasn't such a big seller.
