Today I trekked down to the local BB to look at the LG Super Blu-Ray BH 100 combo Blu Ray and HD DVD Player.

I walked out with that (open box)........ AND:

10- count 'em 10! FREE HD DVD and or Blu-Ray Discs, AND

1 Samsung 19"HDTV LCD TV(open box)with wallmount.

All for $999.97:D :D :D :D

That's going in the gym.:)

After I get my Pioneer VSX84 I will critique the LG and start a new thread. Right now it's on the HK 235 via optical (boo!:( )

Wow -- you have a gym? Damn, you must be putting in lots of OT. You got a bowflex in your gym?

The HK 235 is OK. The picture quality is what I'm most interested in, plus the unit itself -- ease of use, bug free, simple setup, nice remote, etc. Are you running HDMI directly to your TV?

The gym is the third bedroom. I have a Pacemaster treadmill and a Nautilus station with some free weights. No big whoop but it's still a gym. I want to streamline it a bit hence the wall mounted lcd.
HDMI is going directly to the 1080p Sammy.

Thanks!:) Originally they weren't gonna give me the 10 free movies offer because the LG was open box but then when they rang it up the computer put out the offer so I got the LG and the 10 HD DVD/Blu Ray for $699.00 with full warranty yada yada.

Well here is my first review of the LG....

I just found out that it won't do multichannel pcm over HDMI which totally defeats my purpose. I never saw that coming! I mean why do that? What's the point? Sooooo...I think I may try to Ebay it and keep my movies. Mwah hah ha ha.:D Other than that it seems fine.

What a coinincidence. I picked up a LG Super Blu-Ray BH 100 played at the BB in Miami on Friday. It was a total pos and locked up so I returned it that night. I hung around a little while looking at Cd's and I saw them put the one I returned on the floor Open Box...:D

sorry dear. i wish you had asked around and done more homework first. i have abandoned threads on other sites once i heard all the shortcomings of that combo unit. just last night i told my ex-boss to stay away from it. he's considering paying full retail price for one at best buy.

I read some about it but for some reason I did not see that.Oh well. The worst that can happen is that I return it. I stll got a good feal on the LCD :p .

I am watching Night at the Museum Blu Ray on the LG and I gotta tell you...it's really nice. Even without the HDMI PCM and on the lowly HK235. I am surprised that the Blu Ray PQ is this good after all the negatives I have read.
