Well, those 27 HD-DVD's also have the standard DVD on the other side for a few dollars more, so isn't that really 54? ;)

Unfortunately the BluRay standard doesn't support the advanced multimedia features of HD-DVD which is why the HD-DVD version of 300 includes more features (a game I believe is the main difference). Great movie either way. I picked up the HD-DVD version since I have the HD-DVD add-on for my XBox 360 :)

I was fascinated by special features/extras when they became common in DVD but since then, I could care less how they did this or that or what was involved to create the "magic". I'm a basic consumer.

I want to watch a movie.

Regular for me... already watching it for the second time today. I won't own BD or HD yet. Why support a possible dead format? ;)

Didn't feel like dropping $35 at CC for the HD-DVD, or wait on Amazon to ship it. So, rented the regular version. . . and they were out of widescreen, so I had to go full screen.

Great movie though! I know I want to buy it, so I can sit back and wait for a good price on the HD-DVD.

You guys that are waiting for HD DVD are really missing out ...especially at the current prices. If you have an HD display and a decent surround set up it really is worth shelling out the coin for the experience. Just Netflix the movies. Even if HD DVD goes belly up you will still have a very nice up converting DVD player.

Agree with Wingy on this one. I have two HD-DVD players. They were each purchased around the prices of the pieces they replaced (PE 59avi that cost me $450 and a Samsung upconvert that cost me $150).

After selling the old ones, HD-DVD was basically free to me. . . and I ended up getting about 13 HD-DVDs out of the purchases as well. No Brainer.

I always figured it was some Dutch kid strolling around the set wearing overalls and clogs passing out lollipops to everyone on the set...

At least, that's what I saw on that Project Greenlight show.

Some here. In fact I put the 300 BR disk into my PS3 last night and it fired the movie right off, no lame menus to get in the way. The only time I have ever been interested in bonus material is for a movie like Start Wars and maybe Indian Jones, thatís about it. In fact, when I got new DVD's that came with 2 disks, the movie dvd was thrown in my 400 disk hanger and the "bonus disk" got stuffed with te case in the basement.

same thing with the hd dvd version.;) although due to it, i forgot to choose the trueHD soundtrack. though the trueHD is down-mixed to dd or dts 1.5 mbs, it still sounds better than dd 5.1.

Are these low budget knock-offs, or are you worried about some type of George Lucas Death Star(t) that obliterates copyright infringers?

I actually liked Indian Jones better than Indiana Jones. Lou Diamond Phillips is just a much more believable action
    star(t) than Harriston Fort.

I plan on picking up both the 360 hd player and 300 on hd dvd. I still believe Blue ray is out in front currently but I'm waiting to get into a reference player. Pioneer Elite did release a new Blue ray 94hd player but I'm still keeping my eye on the market.
Also It will suck to own just one format as not all movies are on both. That sucks.

yes, but I believe it was spelled Injun Jones. Samuel Clemens was as creative with his spelling as he was with his pseudonym.
